Usage Guidelines

Permalink 12/05/10 | posted by Chrissy
First, your usage of our content:

Please respect that our photos, tutorials and other content are protected by copyright. We work hard to create quality content that is easy to understand and nice to look at. Please feel free to link directly to any of our tutorials or articles, but please do not copy any text word for word onto your site.

Here is a neat article I came across about Making It Your Own - it talks about the importance of standing out by creating your own ideas and not just copying other people.

Usage of Our Photos
If you would like to use one of our photos, we would appreciate you downloading it to your computer and then posting it on your site. Please give appropriate credit for photos. If linking to a tutorial, please just use one photo that gives an idea of what the tutorial is about. Please do not copy all the images from any single post or page on MOTM.

Selling from Our tutorials
Just like our patterns, you are welcome to create and sell from our tutorials. We appreciate a link back, but it is not necessary. Mass production and/or large scale manufacturing, however, is not allowed without permission from the designer/author. Photos and pattern designs remain the property of Muse of the Morning.

Our Usage Etiquette Policy

After a lot of thought and input from other bloggers and crafters, we have put together a policy on how we deal with using other people's photos. Most of the time, the photo will be used for the "Creative Musings" category of the blog- that is basically a craft round-up of different tutorials, inspirations and fun stuff from around the internets.

For these purposes, we will download a single image from the tutorial in question that best shows off the project. We may crop it to fit the space we need. We will link directly to the tutorial that we are talking about and will also indicate who created it- this most likely will be the name of the blog, but might also include the name of the crafter.

Once the post goes live, our best effort will be made to locate an email address for the crafter. If possible, we will send an email to the photo owner indicating as specifically as possible which photo is being used, the reason and a direct link to the post in which it is included. If you want your content removed, I will do so immediately.

In return for having your tutorial, article or post featured in one of our Creative Musings, you get to take a little badge to post on your site if desired. The email will contain a link to download said image and instructions for posting it.

About Me

Hi! I'm Chrissy. I'm a mama, an artist and a kisser of owies, giver of snuggles and nurturer of art. I live in the heart of Oregon hippie country with The Hubs and my 2 adorable children, some frustrating cats and a tiny flock of comical chickens. I enjoy working with kids, designing websites and sewing patterns, making everything beautiful and often make my life into a musical. Read More . . .
