Welcome back to Handmaking the Holidays! You’ve probably been on a tour of my lovely partners in handmaking:
Melissa from Love Bug Living
Heather from Feather’s Flights
Sandee from In The Hills of North Carolina
They’ve come up with a lot of fun crafts and goodies for you to make for the holiday season this year. If you haven’t been checking them out, I hope you will. You can see the previous posts by clicking here.
Now, onto my post!
Shortly after the beginning of last month, we took Lil’Miss out of school and started homeschooling. It’s a long story, remind me to tell you about it next month. We’re experimenting with the Notebooking style of schooling, and we’re having a blast.
This month, we’re studying how the world celebrates the Winter Holidays. It’s a great way to introduce kids to the world.
For some handwriting practice, I created these notebooking pages with some of my favorite Christmas-y quotes. To use them, click the download link below the image and the print them out. You’ll need Adobe Acrobat to open the files. After you’ve printed them out, your child can practice writing the quote on the lines below. Then they can color or decorate the page if they like.
I made each one with a version with the dotted middle line and a version with just lines for older kids. I hope you’ll enjoy them!

This one is from Norman Vincent Peale: “Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.”

This one is from Charles Dickens: “I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”
I hope you these will be useable and fun for your homeschooling family!

Very cute Chrissy, I know some mom’s that home school, and that has to be a challenge, although I hear some people get to sleep in late ;)waving hi from the hills of North Carolina 🙂
I love the idea of studying how other countries celebrate. My Mom would make us a dinner on Christmas Eve that was based on a traditional holiday meal from another country. We’d also do some of their traditions (like a pinata for Mexico). Great memories!
