Well, it’s a new year, and I think it’s time for a new tutorial!
This past year, we made some really nice fixes to our house, and now I want to focus on making item in the house useful and beautiful. This is a really easy and quick craft to make a utilitarian item look really nice!
You’ll need a tin can, a ball of yarn and a hot glue gun.
I’m using some wool yarn that I dyed. It’s really pretty and the variegation makes it change color around the pencil holder.
Start by putting a dab of hot glue at the top of the tin can.
Place the end of the yarn in the dab of glue and start wrapping.
Then you pretty much just wrap and wrap and wrap the yarn around, making a layer of yarn over the entire surface of the can. Every now and then, put a little dab of glue on and lay the yarn in the glue to keep it secure.
Eventually you’ll cover the entire surface and it will be gorgeous! Try this with solid colors and variegated colors.
The one above is made with 3 smaller can that we glued together with hot glue and then wrapped with yarn.
