Make a stash of mini diapers to last through all your children. Then make just a few diaper covers for each size. That is what makes this system of cloth diapering so easy and versatile!
You can even use prefolds or another insert inside the diaper cover – or use another wrap style cover over the mini diaper.
The cover is secured with hook and loop fasteners, making the cover adaptable for almost all baby body types. The mini diaper has elastic through the leg area to contain messes, and is folded down on either or both ends to fit most babies.
The diaper cover comes in sizes Newborn through Large. The mini diaper is one size and should fit most babies.
This pattern is for Intermediate Sewing Level.
This pattern does require some specialty supplies:
- PUL fabric – this is a waterproof fabric for the diaper cover. It is available in fabric shops online.
- fold-over-elastic or FOE – this is 1inch wide elastic that has a line for folding down the center. It is now available in local fabric stores, or online.
- Touchtape – this is a brand name of hook and loop fastener. It is stronger and more secure than any other brand. You can purchase it online.
