Fly Me to the Moon Embroidery & Sewing Pattern

This wonderful wall hanging includes a lovely quote “Fly me to the moon, let me play amongst the stars,” originally written by Kaye Ballard, and then popularized by Frank Sinatra in the 60’s. The wall hanging features applique work of the phases of the moon circling around the sun, and embroidery of designs of the stars surrounding. It also includes the quote at the top of the wall hanging.

Included In The Pattern:
– full size sewing pattern, including
– stitch diagrams for all stitches needed
– embroidery diagrams of embroidery designs
– complete instructions for creating the pattern
– resources list for locating quality materials

Materials Needed:
Felt – Eco, Synthetic, Wool Blend or 100% wool felt.
~ 1 sheet yellow felt for the moons
~ 1 sheet dark blue felt for the moon backgrounds
~ 1 partial sheet dark yellow for the sun background
~ 1 partial sheet orange for the sun

Embroidery Floss – cotton embroidery floss in matching colors to the felt, plus yellow for the stars embroidery, and dark blue or black for the words

Cotton Woven Fabric –
~ light or medium blue fabric for the main background (approximately 8.5” x 11”)
~ dark blue fabric for the border and back side of the wall hanging (approximately 1/3 yard)

Batting –
~ low-loft cotton batting for the inside of the wall hanging (approximately 11” x 13”)

Supplies –
~ 1 – 1/8 inch diameter x 12 inches long wooden dowel for hanging.
