These little foxes and mushrooms are so cute, you’ll never want to lose your keys again. These keychains will help you to keep track othem by adding a little bit of nature to your every day.
In this PDF pattern, I will teach you how to make adorable felt keychains featuring a fox head and mushrooms. The keychains are made using several simple embroidery stitches, and the pattern comes with lots of diagrams and step-by-step instructions so you can complete it with ease.
You’ll be able to keep track of your keys (and show off your love of the forest) with these cute felt keychains! The detailed instructions for sewing and embroidery stitches makes this project suitable for beginning to intermediate sewists.
Supplies Needed:
Felt – 5×5 inch sheets of Eco, Synthetic, Wool Blend or 100% wool felt:
~ medium blue for the back and front of mushroom keychain
~ scrap of red for mushroom caps
~ scrap of off-white for mushroom stems
~ light blue for the front and back of fox keychain
~ scrap of orange or orange-y brown for the fox head
~ scrap of white for the fox face
~ tiny scraps of black for the fox nose and inner ears (Alternatively, these can be stitched with a satin stitch. Instructions for both are given)
Embroidery Floss – cotton embroidery floss in matching colors to the felt, PLUS
~ white for the spots on the mushrooms
~ black for the fox nose and inner ears if satin stitching them
Stuffing – wool, cotton, or synthetic stuffing
Notions –
~ 2 – split ring 1 inch key rings
~ 2 – 3-inch lengths of ¼ inch wide twill tape or similarly strong ribbon
