Hi, I’m Chrissy Bernards! I’m a dyer and designer living and creating in Eugene, Oregon. I’ve also returned to college at 45 years old to complete my degree (what am I thinking?!?!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want to inspire you and provide you with the skills, supplies, and materials to create whimsical and wonderful, heirloom quality felt and embroidery projects with easy-to-follow tutorials, kits, and patterns!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve been creating since I was very young.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In between farm chores, you could always find me exploring my mom’s sewing machine or experimenting with a needle and fabric in my hands. I’ve tried a lot of other creative mediums in my life, but I always end up coming back to stitching in some form or another. It’s probably not surprising that I would end up in a creative industry!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I especially love using hand dyed fabrics and threads to create something truly unique. I dye variegated embroidery floss and cotton and wool fabrics to inspire your creations. I design sewing and embroidery kits and patterns to put those threads and fabrics to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2005, when my daughter was born, I felt like baby and children’s clothing was way too expensive and made out of poor quality materials. I tried making some clothes for her and found that a remnant from the fabric store was enough to create all or part of some of her outfits – and was a fraction of the cost of storebought clothes! Unfortunately, the available patterns back then were still pretty poorly written and sized incorrectly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, I taught myself how to design and write my own patterns for her clothing, cloth diapers, and toys. Throughout the years, my focus has changed to felt toys, ornaments, and embroidery patterns, including dyeing variegated embroidery floss and fabrics to stitch with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I design patterns that are easy to understand and follow. I make sure that every stitch and step has full instructions so that people of all stitching levels can pick up a pattern and get started. I absolutely love working with felt and embroidery, and playing with colors and stitches, and I want to get you excited about them too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
