You can decorate these super cute cloth napkins for yourself, or, they would make such a lovely gift for one of your favorite people! The napkins themselves are super easy to whip up, and then you can spend some family time decorating them. Or you could buy some already made napkins and decorate them!<\/p>\n\n\n

To Sew the Napkins:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All you need is 1 yard of linen fabric and some 1\/2 inch double fold bias tape. I used packaged bias tape for these ones, but wouldn\u2019t\u00a0homemade bias tape<\/a>\u00a0be even more adorable?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the linen- a linen blend is ok too. These are the linen\/rayon blend that you can buy at JoAnn\u2019s. The green ones were dyed by a\u00a0friend of mine\u00a0and the off-white ones are the natural colored linen, dyed with\u00a0cleavers. Cleavers grow a lot around our house. It was an experiment. You can\u2019t really tell that there\u2019s a color difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

From the yard of linen, cut 4 squares about 16 inches x 16 inches.<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 2: <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Next, sew on the bias tape. I used the cheater method like in\u00a0this post from Made<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

And that\u2019s basically it for the napkins. You can use them just like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BUT. You should decorate them. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You should let your kids decorate them! That is the part that makes them priceless for the gift recipient!<\/p>\n\n\n

There are a lot of types of\u00a0fabric markers<\/a> out there. These are my favorites though<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n

Let the kids go crazy drawing whatever they want to!<\/p>\n\n\n

Last Step:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

After everyone is done drawing, iron the napkins with your iron on the hottest setting to set the colors.<\/p>\n\n\n
